Open the full-screen slide deck to screen-share during the event — agenda, scripture, Zoom polls, and the Go Deeper offer all built in.
Host Script
A timed, minute-by-minute script for the 90-Minute Marriage Check-In — including discussion prompts, scripture anchors, and Zoom poll setup. Print this out and keep it beside you, then share the slides on screen.
Run of Show
Discussion Break (5 minutes)
Send couples into breakout rooms (or have them turn to each other) for 5 minutes. Read each prompt aloud, then start the timer.
Take 90 seconds each. Finish this sentence out loud to your spouse: "This week I saw God's grace in you when…"
Listener: respond only with "What I heard is…" No fixing.
Share one pressure you're carrying right now. Spouse listens using the Speaker-Listener tool, then paraphrases back.
Switch roles after 2 minutes.
Tell your spouse one thing you most desire from your marriage this month, then ask: "How can I pray for you this week?"
Close by praying a one-sentence blessing over each other.
Scripture Anchors
Read these aloud at the moments noted. All passages are from the New King James Version.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–12
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor… And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
James 1:19–20
"Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."
Colossians 3:12–14
"Bear with one another, and forgiving one another… even as Christ forgave you… And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection."
Zoom Polls · Chat-Box Setup
Pre-configure these three polls in your Zoom meeting settings before the event. Launch each from the Zoom polling panel at the marked time, share the results on screen, and use the debrief notes to guide a 2-minute conversation. Couples can also drop their single-letter answer in the chat as a backup.
How often do you and your spouse have a meaningful check-in?
- ADaily
- BWeekly
- CMonthly
- DRarely / only when something's wrong
Debrief: Notice how many land in 'Rarely.' Normalize that the goal isn't a perfect cadence — it's a regular rhythm. Point them to the Rule of Life card (daily 2-min, weekly 20-min).
What's the biggest pressure on your marriage right now?
- ATime / schedule
- BFinances
- CCommunication
- DIntimacy / closeness
Debrief: Use the top result to frame the next tool. If 'Communication' leads, linger on Speaker–Listener; if 'Time,' name the daily 2-min touch as the lowest-cost start.
When tension rises, how quickly do you usually repair?
- AWithin the hour
- BSame day
- CA few days
- DLonger
Debrief: Celebrate the 'Within the hour' group. For the 'Longer' folks, the Repair Script is your gift tonight — practice it before they leave.
